OLIVEDA Skincare Review: Organic Personal Care Products & Beauty Solutions

This blog is about my personal experience using Oliveda Organic Skincare since April 2024; I have been so satisfied with my results so I inspired to review it. Oliveda has gone viral as “botox in a bottle” in 2024 which is how it caught my eye. I swear on my life – I only get Botox injected into my jaw, but it does appear I have now thanks to….skincare!!

What makes Oliveda special?
Oliveda has a secret weapon: olive tree cellular elixir from 1000+ year old organic olive trees in Spain. This European based company manufactures high quality skincare, haircare and supplements that all incorporate the healing properties of hydroxytyrsol harvested from organic olive trees.

What is Hydroxytyrosol?
This potent antioxidant has remarkable benefits in skincare. The hydroxytyrosol from pristine mountain trees (untouched with pesticides) is in almost every product and the flagship ingredient. Note conventional skincare is 95% water. Oliveda use the bioactive arbequina oil from the olive leaf – which is very anti-inflammatory. Some conventional and even medical grade cosmetic products contain mostly water or fillers such as mineral oils, vegetable oils, and waxes, which do not have active benefits for the skin.

Before we talk about the aesthetic side of using skincare, here is a plug for health and safety:
As you are aware if you have been reading my blogs or following me on social media, I discuss the important issue of toxin bioaccumulation. According to the EWG (Environmental Working Group out of Washington D.C.), the average women exposes herself to on average, women use 12 personal care products a day, exposing themselves to 168 chemical ingredients. While we can’t live in a bubble, in the same breath I think its important to discuss the totality of this day after day, year after year.

There is a alarming amount of medical literature linking many health problems 9obesity, reproductive concerns, metabolic syndrome, cancers) to obesogens and endocrine disruptors found in personal hygiene products. Again, don’t panic but use this as an opportunity to start being intentional with what you consume, and for the purposes of this blog, what you slather on your largest organ every single day.

Regulations in the USA are WEAK!
Oliveda markets itself as an organic skincare company. Because they are based in Europe, they are also following much tighter cosmetic safety regulations set by the EU. Currently, there are over 1700 unsafe cosmetic ingredients banned in the EU, while the USA only regulates the use of 11 chemicals.

Even if western medicine/dermatology doesn’t address these realities well, it doesn’t make widespread toxin exposure any less real. To this I say: “take matters into your own hands” as legislation and healthcare algorithms are so sloowwwwww to change. The biggest thing the EWG has taught me is that legal does not equal safe in regards to what is on the shelves.

Okay, back to my girly-girly side.
One of my friends started using these products and I saw some stellar improvements in her complexion, fine lines, and she looked every day like she had gotten a facial. I also so many bloggers starting to post about reduction of acne, reversal of sun spots, and just overall dewy hydrated skin sans makeup. Eventually I saw this go viral on tiktok as “botox in a bottle.” And I thought, “damn I am a sucker and gonna try this.” I was “influenced” myself. The fact that most products were/are 100% organic was/is the cherry on top for a functional medicine aligned person.

Oliveda has been around for about 20 years in Europe, but Oliveda chose to launch a MLM in the USA in 2023. I know the phrase “MLM” can invoke a strong reaction in some people. Love or hate the business model (which in my opinion is not much different than corporate America hierarchy) but there is no denying the products are fabulous. I enrolled a business partner for the discounts which was 35% on initial products I purchased and 25% off on all future purchases with free shipping (and please note all my financial relationships are disclosed in my new patient paperwork which is an endeavor separate from my blogging and newsletter; financial relationships are also disclosed on my website to meet the Academy of Nutrition Dietetics Ethics Standards and FTC guidelines). I am just a dietitian on a budget and love good discounts.

Within days, I saw results. No joke! I don’t think that is typical but I started taking before and after pictures. I do get asked often on social media, “what is your line up?”

Here is what I ordered my first go around & my baseline daily routine the past few months
Healing facial glow starter kit (retails ~$300?) plus $50 fee to become a distributor (this is about 35% off retail price of products). This bundle of organic skincare came which lasts about 6 months is less than $2/day:

• Honey enzyme mask (F76) – I use once a week as refer to as my “wicked witch of the west” mask as it is vibrant emerald green on my face)
• Daily purifying gel cleanser (F38) – skin feels clean but not stripped
• Daily eye elixir dabbed under eyes (F64) – my 2nd fav product!
• Daily under eye cream dabbed on top of elixir (F09) – this is FREE if you take the skincare quiz and add two products to your cart and checkout
• Daily serum (F06)
• Daily moisturizer (F07) – go thin to thickest product in terms of order of application
• F82 – Green Retinol Alternative (which I honestly don’t use on my face; to not waste the product, I rub on my arms.

I rotate other serums and retinol alternatives at bedtime.
I later ended up purchasing a few other viral serums. When I remember (I’m not perfect each night), I often mix the F59 (“botox in a bottle”) with the following below. Logistically, I mean I add the droplets of various serums in my palm, mix together and rub all over my face at once. Note the “F” stands for face; if you get a body product it will start with a “B” and if you get an internal supplement it will start with an “I.”

This is my weekly nightly rotation of serums that each have different benefits:

• Sunday night: AHA plus vitamin C serum (F81)
• Monday: Retinol Alternative serum (F65)
• Tuesday: Rest if you are sensitive to retinols
• Wednesday: Green honey face mask (F76)
• Thursday: AHA plus vitamin C serum (F81)
• Friday: Retinol Alternative (F65)
• Saturday: Rest if sensitive to retinols

A little bit about each additional serum I use that were later additions I purchased after I had been on Healing Facial Glow Starter Kit:

• F06 (Cell Active Serum): Hydrating! It is known to strengthen, tone, repair, and refines pores, reduce dark spots and smoothes wrinkles. This one is fine for sensitive skin.

• F59 (Corrective Face Serum – aka “Botox in a bottle”): Wannabe Botox! As worded by Oliveda, “This highly effective face serum with hydroxytyrosol and para cress has a lifting effect on the skin as well as it reduces the appearance of enlarged pores. Strong olive tree antioxidants have balancing and regenerating properties to smooth the skin structure. Fine lines and wrinkles as well as high pigmentation can be reduced if applied regularly. Para cress, a south american plant, works as a botox alternative by having positive effects on the collagen which lifts the skin. This unique face serum is quickly absorbed to create sculpted contours and a healthy and glowing complexion – in just seconds! Signs of premature aging can’t only be prevented but minimized.”

• F81 (AHA plus Vitamin C): Exfloiating! Hydroxy acids gently exfloiate to promote clear skin. Most people need occasional exfoliating. It can help reduce scars, promotoes circulation and counteracts pigmentation. You want to do this before your retinol night to get the most out of your retinol.

• F65 (Corrective midnight elixir): Correcting! Think midnight as bedtime routine – helps to remember to do bedtime. This has bakuchiol which many prefer as it is less harsh compared to straight up retinol. F65 also contains hydroyxtyrosol and kai oil. This product is to tighten, nourish, counteract pigmentation. Fine for sensitive skin. It does feel “thicker” so I usually mix with F06 which is more watery and I feel like the application is then more smooth and even.

Now this is just me and what I use.

Get the basics down and then start playing around with night time serums and masks.

Obvi good skincare is important for healthy skin but as a practitioner we know that the gut/skin relationship and nourishment (or lack there of) can influence skin health (or lack thereof). Consider starting on some of their “internals” (aka supplements) to support the skin from the inside out.

Discuss with your doctor about starting on either their camu camu (high dose vitamin C), their collagen supplements, and they actually make an olive oil that many use to either cook with or take a shot of daily.

And if you want to get real carried away like me, you’ll try the organic body wash and handsoaps and shampoo….love almost everything I have tried. The slight negative comment I will say is the F65 feels too thick, almost flirting with sticky so I cut it with another serum. Otherwise, so satisfied!
