Think your health may be negatively impacted by toxic indoor mold?
I have an awesome, FREE resource to share with you! Test, Don’t Guess!
It’s not a matter if mold is present or not; the real question is were the levels of clinical significance and did they harm the body? We can pursue objective data for this.
The visual contrast sensitivity (VCS) test is a online screening tool you should use when you think or know you have been exposed to toxic indoor mold from water damage in a building.
This VCS test is available to individuals who suffer or suspect they may suffer from a health condition that affects contrast sensitivity and indoor mold exposure and lyme are the most known to contribute to contrast sensitivity in the eye. Biotoxins including mold impair the ability to detect subtle contrast within 24-36 hours after exposure. Basically if you “fail the screen,” your optic nerve is detecting a biotoxin.
VSC testing
This online test measures one’s ability (or lack thereof) to see details at low contrast levels. The actual test itself “involves the presentation of a series of images of decreasing contrast to the test subject and the recording of the contrast levels where patterns, shapes, or objects can or cannot be identified.” Basically, when completing the online test, it asks you to distinguish which direction the gray and white lines are facing as it gets progressively harder to distinguish between the two colors. This test is used to detect neurotoxicity in the brain as well as the optic nerve. It is one test in eye-care. Did you know mold can harm your eyes?
VCS testing by itself does not 100% confirm or rule out that mold is impacting a person; however a “failed test” may suggest mycotoxin toxicity among other possibilities. It does NOT replace seeing your Doctor and Optometrist, but it can give a lead.
How accurate is the VSC test?
According to Ritchie Shoemaker, MD – “The incidence of false positives are quite low. If you have a multi-symptom, multi-system illness and a VCS deficit, the likelihood that you have a chronic inflammatory response syndrome is 98.5%.” The majority of CIRS cases happen from water damaged buildings, but other biotoxins (lyme disease) can also cause CIRS.
How does one take the test and get their test results?
VCSTest.com is one place I point people to go get screened if they question if toxic mold could be harming their health. Once you get on a computer and follow the test instructions, the pass/fail algorithm will generate a results report. Once you complete the test, the results are immediately available on-screen and available for download for a fee. A “positive” score shown in the red banner at the top means you have a problem.
How much does testing cost?
Testing is free (or you pay for further information). The free results are limited to a positive/negative score. If you want the downloadable form, the website charges only $15.
Where do you go to take the test?
Visit: www.VCSTest.com to complete; it only takes about 15 minutes.
Origins of VSC Testing
VCS testing was originally developed by the U.S. military to assess the vision of jet fighter pilots and determine their thresholds between the visible and invisible. It is now a screening tool used by Healthcare Practitioners all over the world.
If you “fail” the test as determined you get a “positive” score:
